WHERE FOUR PAWS LEAD THE WAY

Nose, Instinct
& Trust

Our working dogs specialize in trailing and Search & Rescue (SAR), where their independence, focus, and ability to solve scent problems play a crucial role.

Training takes place in both urban environments and challenging terrain, focusing on the dog's ability to follow the unique scent trail of a specific individual, work under changing conditions, and independently solve problems encountered along the trail.

Meet Our K9s

Dogs are an integral part of our K9 teams. Each has their own experience, specialization, and working history – from mantrailing and Search & Rescue (SAR) to other areas of scent work.

Dante Eddie
White Queen Isabell

White Swiss Shepherd

SAR trailing dog with a distinctive working style and experience in real-world search operations in the USA.

Dante Eddie is a trailing dog trained to locate missing persons by following their individual scent. He received training in the USA under various trainers and across a wide range of environments – from natural terrain and residential areas to complex urban environments.

As part of North Carolina Search Dogs, a volunteer Search & Rescue (SAR) organization involved in emergency response, he regularly participated in team training exercises and was deployed through the organization on real-world searches for missing persons.

His training focuses on independent work on the trail, scent problem-solving, working in scent-contaminated environments, navigating changes in surface type and environmental conditions, determining direction of travel, and locating the missing person. Emphasis is also placed on clear, readable working behavior and the dog's ability to independently evaluate and verify available scent information.

In 2024, Eddie successfully passed the AMPWDA Trailing Field Level 2 evaluation twice, on two consecutive days. He also successfully completed the GAK9 Urban Level 1 Trailing Handler and GAK9 Urban Level 2 Trailing Specialist evaluations.
